POSTCARD/ROADTRIP: Pinery
time. Pretty good weather, cool, but that's OK with us. It's raining
like mad now, at home, so I am glad that didnt' happen at the
Pinery--we did have a few brief showers--but they were very brief and
fairly light and then gone.

Skip Gibson, Canoe Restorer
practically rebuilding from scratch, as it is so badly damaged. He is
teaching the boy the craft--I unfortunately forgot the boy's name--if
anyone knows, please tell me. The boy is a junior at South. I'm so
glad the old craft is being passed on to the younger generation. Skip
graduated from high school in 1951 if you want to do the math. He's
very interesting and informative and told us a lot about his work.

Busy busy busy
2)gardening at two different houses (picture 4 are tulips in rain at
Rolandale--the cottage)
3)hiking out into the woods to see spring wildflowers. Picture 5 is
Dodge Park, showing the trail flooded from too much rain--the Clinto
River is really high!

phlox. The woods are flooded from excess rain. The fungus popping
out on all the trees is Polyporous squamosa.
I am way behind on email and on commenting because I ahve very limited

At Foster Birds Again
baby squirrel, which I will release back into the wild as soon as it's old enough, in about 5 weeks or so. I enjoyed meeting two of the African Grey parrots that belong to Theresa of Foster Birds. If you haven't already seen the other one and want to, click here or simply go to yesterdya's post.
