The Mule and Donkey races at the Michigan State Fair were absolutely HILARIOUS! I laughed my head off. I did not take many pictures, though, because the lighting in the ring was terrible, all wrong. The mules and donkeys were, for the most part, not very cooperative with the whole concept of racing. Or running, or doing anything, for that matter. It was so funny watching the owners trying to coax them into racing! We stayed quite a while and only left because we were getting COLD! (It was cold that day, but it's warming up here now.)
I would have loved to witness this.
ReplyDeleteAt one time my brother had his friends mule in our pasture...I forget the reason why. But its real name was D@*N It. No joke. I can remember it being a real chore to catch.
It was hugely funny! I wish I could show more pictures, but it was very dark in there and too far for my flash.
ReplyDeleteThat was probably an appropriate name! LOL!
I completely understand the mules!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Asta, :-D :-D
ReplyDeleteSteffe--what--you don't want to run either?
Aww poor donkeys!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine 1) donkeys racing, and 2) cold weather!
ReplyDeleteGood shots in spite of the light, Mary!
It's warmed up here now, but it was COLD that day! And it'll be getting colder.
ReplyDeleteThe donkey races were delightful and hilarious!
oh, and thanks
ReplyDeleteYeah, I guess it was sad for the burros--do you have wild ones where you are?
ReplyDeleteThey are cute if not cooperative.
ReplyDeleteThey are cute!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely donkeys. But true, you can't make them run (or do anything else) if they are not in the mood. Bless their heart.
