Faces at Cranbrook



Sunday we went to Cranbrook with my daughters, who were visiting from upstate NY (And I regret to say I wasn't online all weekend and am not yet caught up with commenting, so sorry! And we're having company today, too!) Cranbrook is know for its statuary, among other things. The first of these is a statue at a dorm, the second is a carving on a door (the library, I think.)

    Thanks Unseen and Jacob! I certainly COULD do weeks--months, maybe a whole blog, like a cityblog, on just Cranbrook.

    Great carvings, I have seen something similar to these in Lithuania, any chance there is a link with the Baltic state?

    The architect who designed Cranbrook, Saarinen, is Finnish, I believe. I don't know of a connection, but there could be one.
