Art Class at the War Memorial

I had my water media class at the War Memorial today. It was VERY cold out--I could barely see to drive because the windows kept frosting back up. The snow squeaked. Inside, it was a little warmer. Charlie Myers, the teacher, took a picture of me painting.

The angel who was afraid of butterflies

I guess there are people who are afraid of butterflies, but it strikes me as of that an ANGEL would be. Angels should be smart. And loving.

Check out those buds. If there are buds that fat, can flowers be far behind? YAY!

Grosse Pointe War(m) Memorial

Well, it must be spring,; they've turned the fountains on! The Grosse Pointe War Memorial is just north of Detroit in Jefferson (Lakeshore). That last cupid had too much to drink last night.

Statues at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial

Some of the many statues at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial, just north of the Detroit line on Jefferson (Lakeshore). Taken Thursday after my painting class. I love the woman with the birds. This is where I took that robin shot I posted earlier. Click images to view larger.

Two art venues in one day

Yesterday, I had my water media class with Charlie Myers at the War
Memorial. Then I went to a poetry reading at the Scarab Club.

1-4: John, painting his sunset picture, and two stages of it, yet
unfinished. Also his unfinished duck picture.

5,6 Two of mine, abandoned house in storm (unfinished) and the old
gatehouse in color (finished, I hope)(I did a sepia of this as well).

7-9 Three pictures from the permanent collection of the Scarab club.
The last one is entitled "Mary." The light is very dim in there and I
did not use flash.

If it's Thursday, it must be . . .

water media Day! I went to my water media class again today--for 5 hours.

1)John, Charlie, and another student whose name I'm forgetting.
Charlie is the teacher.
2John's experiment with trees in the sunset.
3)Christa learns about granulation.
4)Another student hard at work. She told her name but I forget, so sorry!

After class, it was lovely outside, a real spring fever day, warm and
sunny. I went for a walk from the war Memoria down Lakeshore past the
huge Multimillion dollar McMansions and out onto the lake wall. (5 &
6).

The class was 5 hours long and by the time I got home it was time to
make dinner.
