Zombie Chicken award

I wish to express my gratitude to Lois Ann and Jacob at the Villages Daily Photo blog for this wonderful award. It does signify, humorously, the sort of serious manner in which I undertake The Detroit Daily Photo blog. I'm not sure what else it signifies, but I'm pleased as punch!

Here's the "official" verbiage related to the award:

"The blogger who receives this award believes in the Tao of the zombie chicken -- excellence, grace and persistence in all situations, even in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. These amazing bloggers regularly produce content so remarkable that their readers would brave a raving
pack of zombie chickens to read their inspiring words. As a recipient of this world-renowned award, you now have the task of passing it on to at least 5 other worthy bloggers. Do not risk the wrath of the zombie chicken by choosing unwisely or not choosing at all..."

So, with that in mind, and even though there are hundreds of bloggers out there who deserve this award (and others as well), I have chosen the following:

Marie at Montpellier Daily

B Squared at Fort Lauderdale

Old Man Lincoln for his birds

Chriss

Cat

I give it to Dick, but he's not accepting awards--smart man. And I'd give it to Jacob and Lois Ann, Hilda but they already have it--and so many others--YAY for fun blogs.

I don't have time right now to add the links or contact the winners--so, if you happen to come here and see your name, help yourself to your award.

Kitty Hawk, Detroit

After visiting the Ford Estate, Fair Lane, we stopped by the Ford Museum. This display is from the early aviation section and shows Wilbur and Orville Wright at Kitty Hawk with their first
flight.

Henry Ford Estate, Fairlane

It was our first ever visit to the Ford Estate; none of us had been
beore. And there was a LOT to see. Of course, there was the garage,
with model Ts, model As and other vehicles.

Ford Estate Fairlane (and spring snow)

Yesterday we went with the grandchildren to The Henry Ford Estate, Fairlane. It had an indoor pool and bowling alley. Among other things. Today, we woke up to spring snow on all the flowers.

White Sun Chop Suey

Fine Chinese Food.

This is on Jefferson Across from Faith Church.

Jefferson is the road that more or less hugs the shore of the Detroit
River and Lake St. Clair. Farther North, it becomes Lakeshore. It is
the road we usually take to go to Belle Isle (driving south) and we
sometimes go to Metrobeach that way (driving north).

Spring Flowers

For those of you who live in warmer climates, you may not know how
desperately we look forward to spring, after 6 months of winter!

Our Christmas Roses.

The First daffodils are starting to open.

Crocuses. Yay Spring! It's sunny today, yesterday was cold and blustery.

Faith Church and Across from Faith Church

It's a nice church, but the neighborhood is suffering.

In front of Village Market--the tulips are real but from the hothouse--none are open yet here.

The Nongreening of Detroit

Belle Isle, very little sign of spring yet.

(I am posting this picture for April 1st tonight, on March 31st at
11:20 PM because I am not going to get on line at all on April 1st.

Please do not expect any return comments until April 2 or after.)
