Happy Halloween and Statue at Cranbrook

Statue at Cranbrook.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! (Halloween Art by Detroit Artist Mary Stebbins Taitt (that's me, LOL! I drew the skull and made the card.) If you click on it, you can see it bigger.)

Have a great day whether you celebrate or not. Happy Samhain! Happy Quarter Cardinal! Happy Halfway through fall already! Enjoy!

Just leaves

All around, signs of fall. I need to do some city sidewalk scenes with all the fallen leaves before too many of them get raked up.

Inside the Ruins of the Old Belle Isle Zoo

No, we did not vandalize anything, we just looked and took pictures. This whole group of pictures is by BB.

One Statue, Two Views

Cranbrook is famous for its statuary. The statues are everywhere there. This is just one of very many. The expression is how I often feel.

At the Belle Isle Conservatory

I love to visit the Belle Isle Conservatory. There is always a wonderful display of orchids and other flowers. It's FREE! I hope it stays open forever. It's so pretty and cheery.

On the Beach, Lake St. Clair

Sometimes I like a little solitude. (Actually, I require a lot of solitude.) Along Lakeshore Dr. (Jefferson) is a tiny beach that always has interesting things to discover and see. I think of them as Zen meditations. I like to SEE them deeply.

Faces at Cranbrook

Sunday we went to Cranbrook with my daughters, who were visiting from upstate NY (And I regret to say I wasn't online all weekend and am not yet caught up with commenting, so sorry! And we're having company today, too!) Cranbrook is know for its statuary, among other things. The first of these is a statue at a dorm, the second is a carving on a door (the library, I think.)

Koi pond at the Belle Isle conservatory (and another blogger)

Here are two shots from the Koi pond at the Belle Isle Conservatory. Belle Isle is part of Detroit. The first shot I took on Saturday while visiting with another blogger. The difference between this meeting and the one I had with B-squared in Harbor Springs is that I knew this blogger before we started blogging. B-squared was new to me. The second picture was taken by Erin at Random Snaps of BB and me at the koi pond. I'm including it because someone complained that I didn't show pictures of B-Squared and myself when we met in Harbor Springs. I do not show pictures of other bloggers without their permission. We were not dressed to be put on display, LOL! Not this time or last!

I've had out-of-town company so I'm behind on my blogging and commenting, but will try to catch up soon.

Yesterday, I briefly met another previously UNKNOWN blogger and will meet again and post pix sometimes soon! (It was V, a local artist, and her husband.)

The top picture was taken with a little point and shoot and it was darkish and I didn't even get it quite straight. I used that instead of my "real cameras" because I had long lenses on and didn't want to change them (sensor spots!)(AK!)

Autumn at the Village Market

The Village Market is on Mack and only about 3/4 of a block from my house. This is where I walk to shop. I carry my groceries home and it makes me feel continental. It's all decked out for fall now.

Scarecrown Time

Scarecrows are popping up all over town, mos associated with some business. I like the ones with no sign best.

Today is BB's Birthday, and he'll soon find out, "Will you still need me, will you still feed me!!"

Dodge Park

We went out to make a will and the lawyer was right near Dodge Park. The fall color was beautiful and we were surprised how few people there were. We got VERY close to two fawns. No, this was NOT Harbor Springs, this is Detroit!

Road Show: One for Jacob, Harbor Springs, Michigan

Jacob--at Ocala Daily--likes stairways--and I like them too. This one is in downtown Harbor Springs. I had a great time in Harbor Springs--a lovely town--but am very glad to be home--I'm trying desperately to get caught UP! AK! I'm going to be slow catching up because I have out of town company and more coming. My daughters are here from upstate NY and my son't girlfriend is arriving from Clarkston for his homecoming dance.

Road Show: Harbor Springs, Michigan

The weather in Harbor Springs while I was there was pretty stormy. But I got out and walked for 45 minutes to an hour every day. These was shot along M119 just north of Harbor Springs.

Road Show: Harbor Springs, MI

I spent the last week in Harbor Springs at a Writer's Retreat. It's a lovely little town, especially at this time of year. B-quared is up there, too, even though he's from Fort Lauderdale. Sorry about the white sky.

Good Hart: My first ever blogger meeting

I went to Good Hart and met my first ever previously unknown blogger. It was B-Squared from Fort Lauderdale Daily. I was a little nervous, but he turned out to be really nice and kind. I had a very good time with him. We went to Good Hart, got a sandwich and chowder at a little store in the first picture (excellent sandwich), and ate it at a little tea house in the back of an antique store with yummy chai-cider and cookies. The flowers and candles were inside the antique shop.

Renaissance Festival: musician

Sweet music available to the ones willing to stop and listen at the Renaissance Festival. Please be patient as I try to catch up.

Renaissance Festival; musician

Another musician from the same group as yesterday.

I am from a writing retreat and am home but flooded with catchup (I will comment as soon as I can).

Renaissance Musician

It's almost worth the rather steep price of admission to hear the lovely music offered at the Renaissance Festival.

I'm at a writing retreat (springfed), will be back next week. Will comment then.

Renaissance Woman

Another portrait from the Renaissance Festival;

I'm at a writing retreat. I'll comment next week when I return.

Of Man and Beast; Rennaisance Festival

I thought the man was handsome and the beast interesting. The Renaissance Fair has lots to see.

I am at a Writer's retreat and may not be able to comment. If you leave a comment, I'll catch up when I return.

Another Pirate, Renaissance Festival

There were many pirates in the Renaissance, or so it would seem at the Festival. Each one unique.

I am at a Writing Retreat in Harbor Springs--B, are you still here? I am very busy and my internet access is limited, so I do not know if I can comment or not. I promise to do my best to return comments when I get home if I am unable to do it here, which I probably will be (unable). I'll be back Monday or Tuesday. Have a great week.

I am online, but I have very low connectivity. It rained all day yesterday and I only took a few shots. Here's one in the rain on the way up near Gaylord MI, at a highway rest area. If I can't comment, I'll catch up when I get back.
