Swan Boat at Belle Isle
Swan Boat at Belle Isle, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. They are rented by the half hour and pretty expensive. The pond is roped in so you can't ride very far. Perhaps this is to not disturb the geese, ducks and herons. I hope so, because otherwise it's just mean. Later, I may post more. I have one with swan boats and real swans.

Oh I think it is not to disturb the birds. The shape of what we call a pédalo too must have been designed not to disturb the wildlife....
I'm glad if that's the case becasue that would make me happy.
The ducks and geese seem unafraid of these, but the herons don't like them very well.
What a cute idea for a boat. Bet children especially like riding in them.
Kids love them--I see a lot of adults enjoying them, too! :-D
I suppose the herons do not like them because they are very big animals compared to them :-))
Yes, this is very true. They are big next to the ducks and swans, too, but I think the ducks and swans think the boats are on their side. (One of them).
That looks like so much fun! I've never been inside a bird, but I"ve had plenty of birds (mostly chickens) end up inside of me.
