Party Boat on the Detroit River at Sunset
Party Boat on the Detroit River at Sunset, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. Click image to view larger. Also included is a map of Belle Isle and a map of just the point of Belle Isle. All the Detroit River shots, bridge, moon, and skyline shots were taken from the point at #1. All the fountain shots were taken from #2 (also yesterday's heron). In this photo and on the maps, Windsor is to the south or left.

Thanks Zentmrs
This series of city sunset pictures is wonderful. Makes me look forward all the more to my upcomming visit to your city. My wife and I may have all day on Sat., Oct. 20, to knock around on the day before the marathon. Any top tourist suggestions?
Mary, the thumbnail of this beautiful photo looks marvelous on the portal. Have you seen it?
what an outstanding photo.
It looks like the old Bob-Lo boat. Nice shot!
Very beautiful!
WOW! Thanks everyone for your very kind comments! I so appreciate your kindness.
The kinds of places you might want to visit would depend in part on what kinds of things you like. The Renaissance Center is truly beautiful in a city sort of way. I love Belle Isle--If you just want to explore and look around. The museums here are great, the DIA (art museum), the science museum. I love Cranbrook. If you tell me a little about what you like to do, I'd be better able to advise you. Greenfield Village is wonderful, as is the Ford Museum and the Zoo.
I did not see the thumbnail of this on the portal. Maybe I will look for it.
Thank you all--I will be commenting--tag I'm it--as soon as I can. Mary :-D
Amazing photo, Mary!
I'm new to Detroit and never saw the Bob-lo boat, but I have certainly heard a lot about it!
Strange Tastes, I mentioned Cranbrook. It is a lovely campus to walk around, very scenic, great architecture, and there is both a science museum and an art museum. It is located in Bloomfield hills.
Thanks, Isabella! :-D
