These are great. Part of me is glad we don't have a zoo here any longer (I'd rather see them in the wild). And part of me wishes we did, so I can take photos 'em. But I think the most "exotic" animal we had here was an albino deer.
I like the top picture. I think it is neat as I like those animals a lot. They have suffered so much in the wild like the elephant.
Mankind is often nuts.
I like the rhinos! I'm thankful for our zoo because they rehabilitate locals and I get to learn about the plights of animals from different countries - as well as see them :)
I love the Zoo. Always a great day out, and they do a really good job now in preserving species as well as educating people.
Some lovely photos here.
Yes, it's a double edged sword. Some zoos are doing great work with preserving animals that are threatened in the wild. It is important work and needs to be done primarily because me is so----greedy, inconsiderate etc. Some are good and some are not. Other zoos are bad places and it is sad to see animals confined. At least at the Detroit Zoo, they have quite a bit of space. They are not kept in small cages!!!!
Its really great work..
Thank you very much...
