Jousting and Swordplay

At the Renaissance Festival. My husband was disgusted that I sat and watched the jousting and swordplay for so long--he said it was like professional wrestling, all fake. But what did he expect--people to actually kill each other? It gave me a chance to rest and try for a few photos.

I tried 5 times to upload pictures and kept getting error messages--I started early this morning and it's almost 1:00. I can't spend the whole day on Detroit Daily. I have larger pictures, but they will not upload and I can't keep wasting my time. At some point in the future, I may post the real pix. If blogger decides to work again. Meanwhile, here are small ones.

But... but... everything about the Renaissance Festival is fake!

I mean, not just the jousting. It's all a fantasy!

I like these a lot. And even if they are fake, it still takes a lot of skill to pull this off without someone getting hurt.

I had the same problem this morning and finally went to a blogger forum and screamed and hollered...people all over the world were affected...

When we got home late this afternoon the problem was fixed...at least for me...

Don't know what happened, though.

This is great. We are back in the Middle Ages! Was there a pretty lady holding flowers in the "tribunes" waiting for the winner to come to her ?

Nothing like a good joust before hitting the grog. I had problems yesterday as well. There were certain CD sites I could not get to. Others came up very slowly.

Thank you all for your great comments. There was a pretty woman on horseback announcing and a young pretty "Princess" waiting on the balcony for the winner. Of course it is all fantasy!!!! That's part of what makes BB's comment so strange.

Handsome men are nice to look at.

And it DOES take skill, and they also take a beating, falling off their horses like that!!!

Of course, there was lots of grog available and BB did avail himself.
