Skywatch Friday: Lake St. Clair from Lakeshore Drive

If you go to the edge of Detroit, by the Detroit River and Lake St. Clair, and drive north a very short distance (less than 5 minutes), you will see this private area jutting into the lake. Whoever owns it has picnics there occasionally, but mostly, it stands empty.

That's so beautiful! I would picnic there every day if I owned it.

Not a bad location for picnics! I cuold stay there even reading a book or just watching the lake. Maybe taking the occasional shot...

What a wonderful spot.

It used to be part of a very large estate, before the newer homes were built there. And someone told me there was a yacht moored there for years. But I can't remember which family it was. I want to say "Dodge" but I am not certain.

Someone from the GP Historical Society would be able to tell you for sure.

So very well composed, Mary...it's a beautiful scene in it's own right, but those ducks ... perfect!

Thank you all so much. I should check out the GP historical!

I'm working on a kids' novel and it's taking all my time. SO sorry.
