Butterfly House at the Detroit Zoo

The Butterfly House at the Detroit Zoo is a wonderful place to visit. It is filled with flocks of lovely butterflies, a photographer's heaven. Behind a bush I also found a pail full of dead butterflies that struck me as strange.

I am leaving tomorrow for California via Jackson, Michigan. See you next week.

The first shot is gorgeous.

The second one is horrifying (but still worth taking and displaying!).

Hey, thanks for visiting and commenting on my Villigen blog. Glad you liked the wildflower series.

Is that verbena that the butterfly is sitting on? I agree, the bucket is a wee bit odd.

Lovely close-up of the butterfly and flower - nice background, too.

A while back we visited a butterfly garden in Luxembourg. We were the first ones there and we saw a girl going around the place picking up the dead butterflies ... I guess each day quite a few expire. But she didn't leave them for all to see!

Thank you so much Erin, Z, Wendy, and r&r for you kind and interesting comments.

The bucket of butterflies was hidden behind a bush. I'm just a nosy curious type.

I think it IS Verbena but I am not positive.
