The Formosan Deer

Piano Boy had 4 teeth extracted today and it has been a bit traumatic
so pardon me please, I'm behind on posting and commenting.

This is a picture from the archives, from a several of years ago
(2003) when the Formosa Deer still ran wild on Belle Isle. Now they
have all been rounded up, stuck in cages and probably exported to zoos
or killed, because most of them are gone.

Since there were no native white-tailed deer extant on Belle Isle, we
don't know why the took them and are very upset about it. We miss
them. :-(

I am feeling somewhat better and so is Piano boy, but it will take a while for him to be 100% back to normal.

Sounds like a mystery to be solved! There must be a very good reason for the disappearance of deers ... but what?

They rounded them up and had them in cages. Some of them were sick (Chronic wasting disease?) But not all of them, the had them divided by sick, not sick, and questionable. But what they did with them after that I don't know. They are gone from the cages. I am expecting, if I can, to post more about this in the comping days.
