My first featured Poetry reading in Detroit

I used to read a lot of poetry when I lived in Syracuse. Since I
moved to Detroit, I read at one open mic. Until now. This time, I
was a featured poet. No one took my picture, but here are some of the
poets at the open mic that followed. This took place at the Coffee
Beanery Cafe near 12 mile on Woodward, which is a short ways north of
the Detroit Zoo. There were so many good poets! WOW!

I wish to have seen you in a photo, but I'm quite glad you had the chance to participate regardless.

I had my camera and asked my friends to take a picture, but no one did.

I think Dawn may have taken one with her camera, but hasn't sent it yet, if she did.

Looks like fun :) I've participated in a couple of these at dinners :) No poets were 'featured' though!

You write poetry? I am envious now! It's a shame no-one captured your performance, but I hope you enjoyed yourself!

I sure do write poetry--and lots of it. Have an MFA in creative writing in poetry and am working on a manuscript at the moment. Well, not this moment!

And I did have fun! THANKS! :-D

Oh Congratulations, Mary! What an honor for you. Would you believe I have never ever been to one of these events?? And of course now, here where I live, there aren't any events like this!
