We Took the Painted Rocks Boat Cruise, fun! It was foggy at first, but we broke out into the sun! YAY! What spectacular views of the colorful cliffs and bluffs! This tour began in Munising, up in the northern edge of the UP. The lighthouse (East Channel Light) was hard to see in the fog, but was of an old shingled and clapboard construction and very interesting. 7/18/08.
(You can see my newest vacation art sketch here. It's a gull with a blue crab claw from Lake Michigan.)

Wow. I don't remember seeing anything this special on our way to Copper Harbor, years ago. I thought it was Native American rock carving or painting when I saw the pics on the portal.
Have a nice weekend.

Heh heh. I have similar shots to your last two photos from Grand Island. The lighthouse is the East Channel Light.
*psst* Correction: Pictured Rocks. :^)
THose are beautiful painted rocks...Looks like Arizona territory!
What a beautiful sight! Thanks for sharing this with us through your beautiful photos.
Wow! If you weren't in Michigan, I'd have guessed this was in the desert Southwest. What a beautiful landscape!
It is a wondrous landscape. Marvellous shots.
Beautiful photographs! What type of rock is it?
Great photos, just found your site. My husband is a Michigander (Hamtramck) and we usually visit from Texas at Christmas, great to see the state when it's not covered in snow. I love you lakes there, so clean, i will not swim in the man made lakes in Texas :-)
Thanks so much, everyone! :-D
WOW! Nice comments. It will take a while to get caught up!
