Poetry at the Scarab Club
The cultural district isn't far from downtown Detroit. The Scarab
club is directly across from the DIA (Detroit institute of Arts) and
DSC (The Detroit Science Center.) The Monday-night poetry reading was
held in the art gallery, newly air-conditioned, which was a relief
from the heat. Here, a bout 1/3 of the audience listens. (There were
two more sections of audience.) Speaking is ML Liebler, a big name in
Detroit poetry.

Luka is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, he has a really good disposition.
Thanks, Goda. That's wonderful news that he's not only cute, but SWEET!!!
So that's what Santa Claus does when he's not delivering presents.
Sweet photos, Mary! The portrait is perfection! The beard is facial poetry!
Thanks so much Gail's Man and Jacob! Nice way of putting it!!!!
The wire mesh behind him - is that a sculpture, or a photo of a sculpture? It appears to emanate from his left side...
The crowd doesn't look too interested.
It's a photo of a sculpture--the actual sculpture is reclining on the floor against the wall below the photo. I did not photograph it because it would not have made a good photo (too many distractions).
B, this was at the beginning of the program and ML was talking about upcoming programs, and people were referring to their schedules and newsletters. I try not to take too many pictures during an actual performance. I don't want to blind or distract the poets.
