St. Clair de Lune (Eclipse over Lake St. Clair, Michigan

This is the eclipse as seen from Detroit Michigan over Lake St. Clair.
Sorry there are so many pictures, but I wanted to show the whole
thing, more or less. Difference in size and location in the screen
are due to my readjustments as I had to keep moving the camera as the
moon rose through the sky.

I took these pictures with a tripod and with a Canon 300mm zoom lens
and a Canon 30D digital SLR. It was very cold and both Biker Buddy
and I feel on the ice. (He got a huge goose-egg!)

Fantastic captures! What is a "goose-egg"?

Wonderful pictures, we missed that the other night.

Thanks so much, Berrybird, anonymous and Jim for your kind comments.

A goose eggs is a huge, swollen bruise--this one is more like an ostrich egg!

I had fun taking these! :-D

What photographers (and their partners) have to go through to get fantastic shots!

Besides the moon shots, I like the biker buddy shot 'cuz it shows how big the ice floes are.

Great shots! I'm jealous. We had thunderstorms here. Even if it had been clear, I really struggle with getting good shots of the moon.

I really like the first two pics, too!

I really DID have fun taking pictures, but Biker Buddy's bruise is getting worse rather than better, one of the worse bruises I've ever seen in my life.
