adjustments, straight from the camera. The color on the church is
from their floodlights. I tried to time it so that there were no cars
coming, but failed because the exposure was so long.
I am deeply submerged in my manuscript. I will try to catch up
somewhat on commenting later. Otherwsie, I may have to give up

Well, maybe not five minutes, but it seems to change every day.
Today we're having a snowstorm.
These are houses on our street. One of them is mine.
The rose is from Dawn, the vase belonged to my Mom.
We used to have that same saying in my old hometown. The weather
changed there more violemtly and dramatically, maybe, but it seems to
change more often here.

at the Y. We brought our suits but never swam. Instead, we ate and
talked. This Y is really huge and new-fangled, not like the old Y in
Syracuse where I used to live. I took these with a point and
shoot--the setting wheel keeps getting bumped and I keep forgetting to
fix it. Sorry. I had my real camera in the car but never wne tout
for it--had my hands full of food ont he way in.

Somehow we managed to cope. (As always, click images to view larger.)
Yesterday, I painted a new picture from the Detroit area, Stormy Sunset over Greenfield Village.

Sorry there are so many pictures, but I wanted to show the whole
thing, more or less. Difference in size and location in the screen
are due to my readjustments as I had to keep moving the camera as the
moon rose through the sky.
I took these pictures with a tripod and with a Canon 300mm zoom lens
and a Canon 30D digital SLR. It was very cold and both Biker Buddy
and I feel on the ice. (He got a huge goose-egg!)

I also took pictures earlier of the snow and other things but have not had time to download them, so sorry I've had such a busy day. I may have to give up blogging. Or cut back!

We've been having a cycle of freezes and thaws. Yesterday we had rain and the streets and sidewalks were flooded.
Last night I had my poetry class at the Scarab Club. When I went back outside, it was VERY COLD and snowing hard (doesn't show up well in the picture). I had something set wrong on my camera. Sorry.

Yesterday, we went to the Henry Ford Museum. It was a cold rainy day. It started with freezing rain and then just turned into a washout. But it was a perfect day to spend exploring the Ford Museum. The Ford museum is huge and very interesting. One of the exhibits that I found interesting and charming was the "Back to the Land" exhibit about hippies living in geodesic domes. There was a great mix tape playing with Grateful Dead and Rolling Stones and a Volkswagen repair manual on the table. Fun!
Last week, Dick at Eye on Texel gave me a "Keep up the Good work" award because he likes my photography, he said. Thank you, Dick! I posted it in the sidebar, but did not have a chance to award it to anyone else.
I am going to award the city blog portion to:
Old Man Lincoln at Brookville Daily
Marie at Montpellier Daily Photo.
Many of the rest of you also deserve award for you wonderful work. I will be giving some out on my other blogs and maybe create some new awards. If you are reading this, you are probably a winner in my book. Thanks for being here!
