We went to the Belle Isle Zoo on Easter Weekend. There were other people there looking around, too. The place is abandoned, is being trashed, is growing up to weeds, but the electricity is still on inside it. (We did not wreck it, we just took pictures--but other people are vandalizing.)

It looks like it was a beautiful place at one time. It's a shame it's now now. Love the building, very unique.

So sad. The structures look so interesting too.

Leaving things to rot is not an option - either pull it down or renovate. I take it they didn't forget to leave the animals.
They took the animals to another zoo--but the place is dangerous for PEOPLE--the walkways are falling apart, etc.
