At the Renaissance Festival!

We've been so busy with out-of-town company, touring them around. We haven't been home to get online! We really enjoyed the Renaissance Festival! It will take me a while to get caught up commenting, I am sorry to say, because we are behind on everything!

More Renaissance Center, inside looking out

Here's another shot inside the same room I posted yesterday. This is from balcony on the opposite side of the room looking out toward the Detroit River.

Looking up from inside the Renaissance Center

We've had out-of-town company for a week, a friend of my husband's from school. He's gone, and another friend is arriving today for another week. Since we will be touring her around, I will probably not be online.

We took Jim, our last guest, to the Renaissance Center. This is the view from just inside the main riverside entrance, looking up.

Onions at the Village Market

I love the outdoor market aspect of the Village Market on Mack.

This is my collaboration with Steve, a splotch monster of sorts. Top: Mama bear with triplets, bottom: original splotch by Steve.

In the Gift Shop at the DIA

I took this before I knew you weren't supposed and was hustled away before I got the artist name--so if you know who did these, let me know and i will post the name. I LOVE the way they look. :-D

Below is my newest painting. It looks much like one I posted earlier, but was an experiment. The other one I did on the iPad, this one I painted on green paper with gouache.

Median

This is the median on Lakeshore. Jefferson tuns into Lakeshore when it crosses out of Detroit, but this is just a short ways north of the border. It's very pretty, day and night, BUT dangerous, I think, when turning, because it's blocks your view of oncoming cars in the other lanes.

Skywatch Friday, Sky Over Lake St. Clair at Sunset

The sky over Lake St. Clair. This image is straight from the camera--it looks like I cranked up the saturation and shadows, but I did not--that's how it really looked! It was after sunset. Happy Friday the 13th!

Echinacea at night

These Echinacea are from the medium on Lake Shore, just north of Jefferson. I'll be posting another shot of them Saturday.

Take-2, street festival

Here's one more from the street festival. You can't even tell there was a festival--it was all on the camera side of the stage. The music, provided by Take-2, shown here, was the best part of the festival! I really enjoyed it. :-D

The Garden

The garden, as usual, is cranking out more veggies than we can eat! We are now getting: yellow squash, green squash (zucchinis), spaghetti squash, acorn squash, butternut squash, okra, ripe tomatoes (forgot to photograph the ripe ones--too interested in eating them!) and roses galore!

In the back, you can see that I've converted dog pens into fenced gardens to help keep the bunnies out of the crucifers.

We have enough okra to have gumbo twice a day every day. Sometimes, we like to have something else, LOL!

Lead Vocalist, Take 2

Here is Paul Nagel, the lead vocalist from the group, Take 2, that I saw at the street festival and enjoyed. I sat there trying to draw a picture of Paul on my iPad, but besides the fact that I am not good at capturing likenesses, the sun was so bright I had trouble seeing the screen. I did the "painting" with my finger.

Street Festival Musician Dave Valice

At a small street Festival, I saw this group, Take-2. I sat and listened and sang along for a while. This guy did great riffs on his fender. His name is Dave Valice. I didn't speak to him, but I liked his work on the electric guitar.
