Abandoned!

There are lots of abandoned houses in Detroit. These are in various stages of disrepair.

Echincea at Sunset, very low light. I thought the color combination was interesting.

I had a visitor object to my showing negative aspects of Detroit. I was trying to show the real Detroit, with good and bad. So here are two views.

Open Space

Detroit has lots of open space becase of the race riots in 1967. There were a lot of fires that burned vast portions of the city, and they were never rebuilt. This is near the center of the city, not far from downtown.

Detroit Metrobeach

The Detroit Metroparks are not actually IN Detroit, but around it. Since they belong to the city (and are clearly labeled "Detroit," I'm including them. These pictures were taken on the nature trail. There is an owl on a nest in a wash tub high in the trees.
