"Paint Out" Art Retreat III: The Drive Through Barn (Again)

This drive-through barn at the site of the "Paint Out" Art Retreat is a rare find. I understand that as few as around 8 of the historic barns remain in Michigan. It is a beautiful barn and I enjoyed exploring it. The final picture is my palette--I was mixing browns to attempt to paint the barn.

The day before yesterday, I posted a couple other shots of the barn.

Postcard from Hamilton: mini-potpourri

Eight miles east of Hamilton is Beamer's falls, which like many of the
other falls we visited, was disappointingly dry this year. Across from the falls was an old abandoned barn I thought was picturesque.

The second picture shows the dry creek bed of the Devil's punchbowl
creek (WAHN!) See more pix of the dry creeks and falls here.

The third an orthodox church we passed on the way back toward Hamilton. I didn't get its name or location, but it is at the top of the escarpment just east of Hamilton. If anyone knows its
name and location, let me know.

We will be home today but LEAVING again Thursday morning for upstate
NY for my photo show at Westcott Gallery there. Be back next Monday or
Tuesday.
