Wild Boards of Cranbrook

Cranbrook is not in the city of Detroit but in the Detroit "area." I know we're not supposed to blog about the area, but it is considered to be part of "Detroit." Cranbrook has many sculptures that give it an artsy cosmopolitan feel. I was here on my birthday. I love Cranbrook.

Detroit Metrobeach

The Detroit Metroparks are not actually IN Detroit, but around it. Since they belong to the city (and are clearly labeled "Detroit," I'm including them. These pictures were taken on the nature trail. There is an owl on a nest in a wash tub high in the trees.

English Ivy

English Ivy. This is an invasive alien species in some locations. It does become feral in Detroit, to some extent.
