In the Fern Room at the Belle Isle Conservatory

We went to the Conservatory again and took literally hundreds of pictures. Most exciting was the fact that we were allowed, for the first time ever, into the fern room where I was able to take some pictures. Finally/

At the water Media Class

Here are some shots from the new water media class I just started taking at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial. The first shots shows the teacher assisting a student (the teacher is male). His name is Charlie. The John, and John's painting, another student, and fourth student's painting. I will learn the names I hope. These other students are a lot better than I am at water media.

At the Chinese Grocers'

Last night we had dinner with Soldier Boy and his family and after
dinner, stopped in at the Chinese Grocery next to the
Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant where we ate. I absolutely loved it--so
interesting. It's been a long time since I've seen chickens with
their heads on in a nomral American grocery. And those crawdads were
all alive and crawling around--the crabs too. The upside down
crawdads had just been dumped in. People were snapping them up like
mad. I just got some rice paper and tapico spring roll wrappers. I
used to keep crayfish as pets and didn't want to boil them.

Transitions

We had our biggest snowstorm of the winter, and the robins arrived.

I'm horribly swamped, will someday catch up I hope.

Snow Day! (Wait 5 minutes)

Piano Boy woke me up early to say, SNOW DAY, SNOW DAY! He was so
excited. It's the first one this school year for him, and he was
beginning to despair. He's off to a friend's house already, by 7:30
in the morning. He's never that eager leaving for school!

Last week we had snow, and quite a bit of it, but not enough for a
snow day. Then it rained. A LOT! Then it froze (I never got any
pictures becase we weere at a funeral etc), and then at 4 PM last
night, it started snowing and snowed all night. The house that shows
twice is our neighbors' across the street.

snow

It is snowing like mad here, a veritable blizzard. If anyone is still coming here, I apologize for being so far behind. I will genuinely try to catch up, but I'm taking some classes and have homework etc. Besides the novel and the poetry manuscript I am working on. So sorry.

Monthly theme: Graffit, Ljubjana and then Detroit

I've misplaced my Detroit graffiti so I am posting some graffiti from
Ljubljana, Slovenia from when we were there in June. These pictures
were taken in the underpass leading to Ljubljana's Trivoli Gardens.
Street performers and teens were hanging out in there juggling and
smoking because it was raining outside.

If I locate my Detroit pictures, I may add them later.

OK, here's one from Detroit, taken at the ruins across from Tr-Centennial Park near the Waterfront (and two for color)(If I find any more, I'll post them tomorrow! LOL!):

There are currently 144 blogs participating in this theme day:
