First Snow

It isn't much! OHT (Syracuse, my old home town) got much more snow
much earlier, but this is our first snow. It's been snowing all day
but it isn't collecting much.

Fall Follies

Empty Slips, Empty Pool

There's one boat left at the Pier Park Marina, and my guess is, that will be gone soon. The pool is full of rain but empty of shouting kids. The cars and garage roofs are covered with fallen leaves.
Everyone was out raking today.

Underwater!

Our street was flooded today. It rained all day, but that wasn't why.
We had a water main break, visible in the last picture, by the first
tree across the road. And we had no water for a while--now it's all
bubbly and cranky.

Elmwood and Mt Elliot Cemeteries

Cemetery. The two cemeteries are side by side. What is the purpose
of the fence? To keep the dead from mingling, or their bereaved
relative? It's even got barbed wire on top. HUH?

Our yard, Indian Summer

We're having a late Indian Summer. After a killing frost (a freeze, really), it's 70 degrees and sunny. All these pix were taken in our yard (the first in the bird bath). Silver maple floating on the bird bath, with reflection, burning bush, flowering dogwood, false Solomon's seal.

Stoney Creek

Here in Detroit, the fall colors are at their peak, probably, but up at Stoney Creek, a Detroit area Metropark, The color is past it's prime, but still lovely. We saw sandhill cranes, swans, ducks (not
shown), dragonflies, milkweed going to seed, and lots of lovely nature.

Tim Burke

Tim Burke is an artist who lives at the Heidelberg Project in Detroit. He's an excellent artist (and does more mainstream art as well) and also a political activist. Let me know if you need help interpreting his work. I can offer my interpretations.
