Grosse Pointe Farms Municipal Waterworks and two Church in Snowstorm

Biker Buddy and I went for a walk last night in Grosse Pointe Farms in a snowstorm. We took the tripod and camera And stood in the snow with the snow falling on the camera taking long time exposures. The falling snow does not show because of the long exposures.

The first two are of the Grosse Pointe Farms Municipal Waterworks, and then two nearby churches. The second one is St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church. I've misplaced the name of the first but will add it later if I find it. All three buildings are located on Chalfonte, which is one long block from the border of Detroit (Mack). The municipal building is on Chalfonte and Kerby. Click images to view a little larger. (They also look sharper when you click on them.)

On the map below, the push pin marks the municipal building and the arrow marks where the two churches are located, just off the bottom of the map. The yellowish area on the left is Detroit, so you can see these buildings are quite close to Detroit. Click map to view it a little larger.

See a couple more shots from last night here and here. (Front view of first church and trees around municipal building.)

Very nice pictures, I love to go out at night with camera and tripod. The waterworks kinda looks like a Church.

What is it about snow that gives everything such a peaceful air? Nice shots.

These would make nice Christmas cards, especially the first one.

LOL! I think the water works looks like a Church too. It is a very attractive building, which is a good thing. And it would be a beautiful Christmas card except for one thing--it's a sewage treatment plant, it often smells bad, and local people would know that. LOL!

If no one locally would see it, then I would feel OK about using it. :-D

Really very nice to see, I agree that would be good for a Christmas card.

Very funny how I wouldn't mind a photograph of a sewerage plant as a Christmas card also! Just love the bottom two photographs ... the lighting is wonderful, they glow :)

I thought the waterworks building looked like a church too. And thanks for providing the answer to the mysterious oak apple gall. And I'm glad to see it was a fellow Michigander who had the answer. Even though you are a Troll and not a Yooper. ;^)

Let's see, A troll must be someone UNDER the bridge, in LP and a Yooper must be an Upper or UPer. Am I right?

I met my husband in the UP.
