The Grosse Pointe Light, Art by Detroit Artist

I took four of my local photos and put them together into a collage and then smudge painted them to create a new painting.

The lighthouse picture came from wall paper at Pier Park in the Ladies' room. The ice came from the Detroit River. The sky was over Pier Park. The sand and snow was the Pier Park beach--you've seen before with a lifeguard chair.

There is no Grosse Pointe Light. It's a figment of my imagination. But it is still a Detroit picture because I painted it, and I'm here in Detroit, and I used Detroit images to create it. Click images to view larger.
