The Gatehouse, Ford

The Gatehouse to the Edsel and Eleanor Ford mansion is bigger than most people's homes, and well-guarded, too.

I thought I could imagine the size of this "cottage" but the gatehouse and the gates are huge and just spectacular. I guess security was somewhat of a concern at times in the past so this might have seemed necessary. But I would love to live in the stone gatehouse.

I completely agree with you about the size. And it's more beautiful than a lot of homes I've seen too! Love the stonework and the ivy-covered walls!

I see the gatehouse often, as it is out on the road, and I have always loved it--and thought of painting it. It is very large, but the "cottage" is MUCH larger!

Thank you for your kind comments.
