More DIA

Here are a few more shots from yesterday's trip to the DIA including a picture of the Original Durer Adam and Eve Temptation. There were so many great famous pictures on display. I was also interested and enjoyed a large group of Red Hat Ladies, two of whom allowed me to photograph them.

I am working on adoption papers and other crucial things so I beg your forgiveness for being behind. I just can't keep up!

Exploring the New DIA

I finally got to go to the new DIA, The Detroit Institute of Arts, or Art Museum. It looks a lot like the old DIA, although a lot has changed, too. Right now, for the opening, they have many of their most famous pieces on display. If I have time, I will show some tomorrow. Today I wanted to give of a little of the "ambiance."

A Walk Through Dodge Park

What happened to all the snow? It all turned to water! The park is flooded, the Clinton river is very high and has been overflowing its banks. The puddles of melted snow are full of wild and feral ducks. But people are getting out with their bikes and getting some fresh air in spite of the cold and flooding and mud.

I'm sorry I'm behind. I'll do my best to catch up, but I am working on some crucial projects. Enjoy your January.

The Conservatory

The garden store is nice, but when it is really grey and dismal
outside, the conservatory is even better! We went and got a tropical
fix of Orchids. YAY Conservatory

a break from the weather, a break from the gloom

The snow has melted and everything is wet, soggy and colorless. It's
cloudy, dim and dismal. But walking around near home, I stop to peer
in shop windows for a touch of colors. Ah, flowers. There is hope
for the world. Thank Goodness that not all the flower shops are closed for the season!

Closed for the Season

Gone are the Christmas Trees, Wreaths and decorations, gone also the
mums and spring-flowering bulbs. Our local nursery and garden store
is closed for the season.
