Along the Trail at Nashua Creek, Belle Isle

Lots of wild turkeys (gobble gobble gobble, fox squirrels, old bridges (and BB posing), signs of spring (algae starting in the creek!), and trash. A fine spring day in Detroit! We also saw geese, ducks, opening spicebush buds, and lots of other cool stuff but couldn't put it ALL on the blog! LOL! Click images to view larger. The first two turkey shots are by BB. I took some too, but his were better. All these rest of the pix are mine and all the other pix on the blog are mine unless otherwise noted.

Nice to see a photo of a real wild turkey - I'd almost forgotten that they exist.

There was ridiculous story on the local paper's website about a woman who called 911 after seeing a flock of wild turkeys in her yard. Can you imagine? I am blown away by the bright yellow of those fox squirrels. It is such a shocking display!

Thanks so much Benjamin and Berrybird! Why would someone call 911? I don't get it?

There were more turkeys and we got soem group photos too, but I'd already posted so many . . .

Fantastic photos here! You sort of forget that turkeys are actually native to North America and probably would be wandering around wild!

Unfortunately, the only 'wild turkey' here in Australia is pretty poor quality whiskey!

Thanks very much for sharing it!

On the turkey 911 call, I have a comment and a question: i) was it captured by the TV show COPS, because that would be an episode that I want to see; and ii) were the turkeys armed and dangerous? ;)
