feeding time at Lake St. Clair

The Party Boats toss out food for the gulls. It's quite a sight to see!

We're coming down to the wire for the Woodward Dream Cruise. We're really looking forward to seeing the vintage cars. It should be totally fun. YAY!

here's something I thought was interesting about the dream cruise: The Woodward Dream Cruise, the world’s largest one-day automotive event celebrating cruisin’ culture, announced today it will partner with Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit, which will provide staff and services to clean up after this year’s event, putting metro Detroiters back to work. The initiative is being underwritten by Guardian Alarm Company.

If I understand this right, disabled and other barriered or needy people will be given an opportunity to work. This seems like a good thing to me and I hope it actually turns out that way.

Here is a finished sketch in the sketchbook.

I am looking at this photo for quite a while and I'm really amazed! What a fantastic shot!!! Hitchcock should have seen it before telling Tippi Hedren to scream! :-)

Thank you for your nice comment on my blog.

Greetings

Is this just one picture? Awesome, photo of the year candidate I think.

Thanks a lot folks! But I have to be honest--I put a couple together because it is really hard to capture them all at once. There were 5 or 6 in some of the shots, but there were literally hundreds of birds, so five or six didn't do it justice. I am making an art piece (drawing) and this was the idea for it.

This photo really caught my eye on the Daily Portal. But I must admit my enthusiasm diminished considerably when I read it's a composite. Still, it's a very dramatic image and i suspect your art project will be quite interesting.

So sorry folks. Sorry Snapper. Most of the shots I post in this site are straight photos, but since I was doing this for the project, I thought it would be fun to share it.

The project is a sketch for a moleskine exchange group I am a member of, so it is small--I may make a larger painting of it also.

You will have to share the drawing when you get done. I bet it will look awesome. I still think the photo is very neat. I couldnt even get close to creating something like this.

Thanks, Jim, I really appreciate it! I have completed a draft in the sketchbook and I will link to it here and in a future page.
