A wonderful display of early aircraft can be found in the Ford Museum. Here is Orville Wright, ready to take off.
And below are two of my newest art pieces. Art by a Detroit artist! (LOL!) Click on the images to view them larger.

Very nice, Mary! I love your use of color.
Thanks, B! :-D
Poor Orville; no helmet or seatbelt...
Got to give those guys credit!
Love both the paintings, Mary. The colors in the first one really grab you, but I think I prefer the subtlety of the second ... there's something magical about it!
And please not to worry about being behind! Just do what you can...everyone understands...and if someone doesn't, well, you know what I'd say...
Thanks so much, Jacob, you're a real sweetie!!
It's a long way to a Gulfstream! Nice art, great colors...
Sorry for the health issues, humans and digital. Take care!
Thanks, VP!! I'm glad to be back online but I have a class tonight and it will take a while to catch up!!!!
Flight and art or is that art takes flight, either way so lovely.
Warm regards,
Simone
Love the Sardinia painting - so colorful and happy.
As for flying lying down on the wing - don't know about that, but I guess you had to start somewhere.
Interesting painting, Mary. At first I saw the colours and thought "cheerful." Then I looked more closely at the face and saw the spider!
I cannot imagine taking off in a plane the way Orville or Wilbur did on my tummy. I am such a chicken!
THANKS!
I wouldn't want to fly like that either.
Yeah the tachycardia thing was pretty scary!
