Night Scenes along Mack in Detroit

Three shots from last night's walk with my little point and shoot. I just set the camera on various stationary objects because I wasn't carrying a tripod. The coolest thing I saw I couldn't capture. There was a Halloween blow-up carriage in front of Mr. C's car wash with a witch driving black horses. It was a wild windy night and the horses were rearing and bucking and the witch was tossing on her seat. I LOVED it, but I would have needed a video camera to get the full effect. These are every-day scenes along Mack, nothing special really. Except they are things I see every day and I shot ones I preferred over others. I didn't even have my "real" cameras with me.

Very nice. The photos make me think of the atmosphere of Hopper's paintings.

I like these shots, especially the Coney Island one. Ordinary is part of the city, too, but taking the pictures at night makes them more interesting.

They also aren't 'ordinary' if you're a viewer from somewhere completely different!

Good nightshots I think I have to try it also someday.

Thanks so much Marie, Berrybird, anonymous and Dick for your kind comments.

Marie, I went and studied some Hopper pictures to refamiliarize myself with them and I am honored. :-D

I sometimes forget that what is ordinary to me might not be to others and I am afraid I will bore people.

The "Dish" place looks very inviting. You got some excellent shots for not having a "real" camera with you - but of course, it was a real camera, because a real photographer had hold of it.

Thanks, Cheryl, I really appreciate you extreme kindness.

I love the way the DISH place looks but have never eaten their food.
