Reconstruction on the Ste Clair Boblo Boat

Through many years of disuse, the Ste Claire Boblo boat is in pretty bad shape. All the work on reconstruction, at this point, is being done by volunteers. Eventually, some professional work will need to be done and they are trying to earn money for that by selling postcards and giving tours etc. They are putting up tarps to keep out the weather during the work, returning life preservers to the ceiling where they used to be kept, uncovering painted over glass, etc. The stained glass here is seen from 1st the outside and then the inside. For more information, see link in the first post in this series.

I'm glad to know that some people care enough about its history to go through the trouble to do this. Believe it or not, thirty or so years ago the beautiful Faneuil Hall (shown today on my blog) was saved from demolition by a group of architects who managed to convince the government to renovate the historic buildings.

I think they do very good work. I like old things like buildings, boats, engines or whatever you can think of.
