The Renaissance Center and People Mover
The Renaissance Center and People Mover, by Mary Stebbins Taitt. Click image to view larger. The Gem of Detroit. As I mentioned yesterday, it is really beautiful, inside and out. And yes, I did fiddle a little with this image. There was a reason for it--a few distracting items like a traffic signal and light. And some sensor spots. In the interest of full disclosure, I will post the original here for those who are curious enough to care.

Hi Mary! I'm dying to see the photo but I can't. It doesn't seem to have uploaded successfully (its URL starts with http://localhost*** isntead of http://bp*.blogger.com/***
Thanks, I uploaded it again. I had no idea it was going to do that or did that because it looked perfect after I uploaded it. What a pain. Thanks. Hope it stays there now.
Great photo, it looks almost unreal - like an artists impression of what it should look like!
Wow! What a stunning building...and I simply love the sky! Greetings from TORUŃ DAILY PHOTO here in Poland!
Nice alterations to the photo! This place looks impressive, and it's quite beautiful.
I have seen this building many times -- I used to ice skate at Hart Plaza and state up at it. I also worked in Greektown, just down the street. I love your blog, love this picture, love the RenCen. Too bad Detroit can't seem to pick itself up again. I like the dark sky, ominous, like a warning. Like Detroit.

Gorgeous photo!
Thanks so much Mountainboy, Glenn Standish, Waldo Oiseau, Kelli K and Berrybird for all you wonderful and very kind comments!
Amazing shots. It's funny that the RenCen was originally tied in with Ford and is now GM's headquarters. Although probably a bit sad for the New Center area, it's good that the RenCen has been changed to be a bit more friendly.
I left two comments here yesterday, but the second one never showed up! This is a great photo. Love those buildings and the way you've capture them.
Thanks so much for trying again. I sometimes have days where blogger won't allow me to leave any comments anywhere.
Great comments, you guys and gals! :-D
Nice photo, it sees like a scale-model.
