Even at the most tolerant eye this mess could be a project and something funny, but not much art. But, I have to admit, even worse things get this art label nowadays... I have no doubt about your photos: the first is wonderful and my favorite of the set. I like the last either and the middle ones are so descriptive that are the funniest of the lot. Nice post!
I like the top photos the best as well. It has a quality I am having a hard time identifying.... can't quite put my finger on... is it poignancy?
Wether one likes this work or not, calls it Art or not, one cannot help feeling the electricity of it as soon as one has turned down the street into the Project.
Thanks, V! I am very drawn to the place, though it is not the kind of work I do myself, or the kind of work I would say was a favorite--I am still fascinated and interested.
Incredible...don't know whether to laugh or cry! But of ultimate interest and it certainly offers many photographic opportunities - you have made good use of those opportunities. Your photos show the weirdness and funkiness of this place perfectly!

The artist got a $25,000 grant to art. A Kresge arts grant.
Thanks Asta and VP! :-)
I really do enjoy visiting to see the newest work.

Sorry for the spelling - I meant "Whether", of course.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi Mary,
these photos are fantastic!
mixture of atmospheres (childhood, surreal, creative deprivation ...)
takes us inside the raw poetry.
Thank you!
Thank you both so much! I really appreciate your kind words.
Wonderful, Mary! I saw a TV documentary on this area a while back and now I'm excited that YOU go there and bring back updated photos! Very cool.
Thanks, Stine! I hope to go there again VERY soon!
