This "Island" (Really a peninsula) belongs to the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House and is a pleasant place to stroll.
The sign goes with the house but is in an awkward place to read it.

Wonderful place and house: design and materials from England!
Thanks for posting the sign.I enjoy reading them.:) It's almost like being there.
That's quite an estate!
It's an incredible spot, very beautiful, and a wonderful place to walk.
Less than half the house was used by the family--the rest was used by staff.
The Cotswalds are beautiful. I was blessed with nine years of life enjoying the peaceful places surrounding. Great memories! No doubt the Fords feel in love with the style.
I've never been there, but sure would like to go--Thanks, Mike! :-D
this actually was an island. When the fords built on the property they filled in a bridge to it.
I guess I should have taken the time to explain more fully. NOW it is a peninsula and you can walk out to it, it did used to be an island.
