Detroit in December!

These were taken right down the street from my house a couple days ago. Of course, flowering pears are aliens, so they do not respond to the climate cues as well as native trees. But meanwhile, it's been so cold, probably the leaves are mostly fallen now. The poinsettias are at our local florist, just down the street. That shot was taken at night.

I'm afraid our long warmish fall is over and winter is here to stay--we're supposed to get two inches of snow tomorrow.

And below is my latest art piece (click to view it larger):

Hard to believe Fall has lasted this long. We are still in Summer with temps in the high 80's and setting records everyday.

News from Florida are upsetting and I still envy your red leaves. The third shot is spectacular...

It's ten degrees out tonight (F) and tomorrow there prolly will not be a single leaf on a tree anywhere around Detroit! Plus it's winter--very cod and bitter. Hard to believe we've had such a CHANGE!

Beautiful art work!

Lovely fall leaves, but didn't the entire Midwest & North just get wiped out by a snow storm? It's very cold in Vegas even - 40F.

Those leaves are gorgeous...I looked for a bit of color but I don't think there is any left after the last couple days of bone chilling cold.
